– SHBG BLOCKERStinging Nettle (Urtica Dioica) is a herb native to parts of Europe, Africa, Asia, and North America. According to tradition it has been used medicinally for its unique healing effects in numerous cultures since the Ancient Greeks.
Studies have shown Stinging Nettle to be a natural alternative for clearing the sinuses from allergies. It has been shown to be a histamine antagonist and to inhibit mast cell tryptase. These two mechanisms of action are strongly anti-allergenic. The anti-inflammatory effects of Stinging Nettle may also contribute to anti-sinusitis effects.
Stinging Nettle has been used to promote prostate health. Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) is when the prostate gland becomes enlarged, usually due to age. BPH may cause a reduced urinary flow, a constant need to urinate, or difficulty in fully emptying the bladder.
Stinging nettle is one of the most prevalent plants used to treat enlarged prostates. Several studies have shown that stinging nettle is effective at improving symptoms of an enlarged prostate, with a low risk of negative effects and toxicity.
Free testosterone can be bound to sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG) or albumin. This renders the testosterone unusable by your body as it is trapped into a non-viable form. Stinging Nettle contains a substance called 3,4-divanillyltetrahydrofuran which binds to SHBG, leading to increased levels of free testosterone for improved sexual health, athletic performance, and improved muscle mass.
Furthermore, Nettle Root is a natural aromatase inhibitor. Aromatization is the conversion of testosterone into estrogen. While both men and women need estrogen (in different amounts), too much is typically a bad thing, contributing to estrogen dominance.
